Cherry Blossom City

Sweater: Gap; Jeans; Gap; Heels: Michael Kors; Bracelet: Kate Spade; Bag: GiGi New York

Does it seem to you that spring springs upon us as soon as the calendar declares it okay to emerge? Today, March 21st, the first day of spring, I went outside to find the tulip trees abloom, the cherry trees absolutely gorgeous along the waterfront, the sun out, people picnicking, and daffodils in the stores - $1.99 for a bunch of 6. How does spring know to emerge on this exact date, gracing us with blooms all across the city? It baffles me. Perhaps it is just that I start paying attention on the 21st, but it definitely feels like some sort of magic descending upon us.

Above is my first experience with boyfriend jeans. I found them on sale at the Gap two days ago and loved the sort-of-loose fit and the boxy shape, even if it's not my most flattering silhouette. Something slouchy, springy, and laissez-faire about them that just appealed to me. Paired with those waffle-y sweater in pale pink and I felt like a cherry tree standing tall amongst the Friday breeze. Oh to feel beautiful and fresh on the first day of a new season - I wouldn't trade it for anything.
