Feast: Tillamook Brunch Village

And so, here it is, the final post of Feast. I think I've detoxed enough from Feast that this post actually made me hungry again and jealous of my own experience. To go back in time to Egg Slut's kimchi fried rice, Mother's Bistro's buttermilk pancakes, cinnamon rolls galore. Ahh, to gain 5 pounds in butter alone. What a life.

Without further ado, drool your way through Thursday, courtesy of moi.

This event, on the final Sunday of Feast weekend (aka hangover day from High Comfort), was by far the best event of the entire weekend! At $75 per person for the 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. event, it featured some of the heartiest portions, most amazing food, and actual cocktails (in addition to tons of bubbly and beer). I left extremely full, extremely tipsy, and extremely satisfied. If you're a brunch person, then this should be a must if you attend Feast. Do be aware that you need to get to the popular stations and get in line early because some of the stars of the event ran out of food.

Highlights of the event were definitely two of the visiting chefs - Alvin Cailan of Egg Slut in LA with a kimchi fried rice in a tin that defied expectation, and Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue with epic brisket and avocado breakfast tacos. I waited in line for Egg Slut for a good 30+ minutes and four tasters of sparkling rose and champagne. I met a nice man from Tahoe and we chatted for ages in line while sipping drinks. I then hopped right into the massive line for Franklin BBQ right before they ran out of brisket and ate my heavenly taco after talking at length with a couple from Seattle that'd traveled down for Feast. We shared gin fizzes and lamented the heat. I am still dreaming of these two dishes and have half a mind to attempt to recreate the fried rice, but am baffled on how to proceed. Perhaps it's time I write to Bon Appetit and ask them to help me!

Hope you enjoyed the lengthy post, today's Feast coverage, and entire week dedicated to recapping it! Until next year folks!
