Do you ever stumble across an invention that blows your mind and changes your entire world?  Leaving you to revel in the madness that is modern technology (think apps that turn your phone into a remote, heated car seats, wifi DSLR memory cards). Well, my beauty-challenged self did this weekend in the hair styles department. That's right. Those curls above, that style I've only been able to pay for due to my own personal hand + hot object maneuvering problems was achieved with a modern invention that I can hardly describe. The Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret.

I was so thrilled by the curls I achieved yesterday that I wore them out to a birthday party and showed them off (I never do this because my "curls" a la curling iron usually look like some version of crimping and hair frizz thrown together on my head). I was bragging about the Curl Secret to the people at the party, many of whom had heard of the device but been skeptical of whether or not it really worked. Here's my photographic evidence folks. It looks intimidating and too good to be true, but if you're at all challenged to do quick, all-day, everyday, perfect, variable size curls, I've got your answer right here.

Below are two looks that I styled using a variety of Conair tools and accessories that I got at Walmart, pictured below. I also had the opportunity to use the Infiniti Pro by Conair® 3Q™ Brushless Motor Dryer to pre-dry my hair before styling with the Curl Secret. I'd like to re-emphasize that I'm the girl that had to pay to get loose, standard curls for her engagement photos because I am so completely terrible with styling tools that I knew it'd be a dangerous endeavor to even attempt it myself. $50 salon visits no more.

Easy loose waves are always my favorite and most envied hairstyle on other (more skilled) women. They wear all day - starting tighter and growing loose and bohemian as the day or night wears on. I achieved this look by: first washing and conditioning my hair, letting it dry for about 20 minutes in a towel and adding some shine serum. I then blow-dryed with the Infiniti Pro by Conair® 3Q™ dryer (it was fast, about 5-8 minutes total for bone-dry hair) and once my hair was completed dry, used the Curl Secret to form loose curls. The Curl Secret has a few settings for either tight or loose curls and I went with the lowest and coolest setting to get a wavy look. It took me about 20 minutes to achieve these curls and with some touchable hairspray and a bit of anti-frizz cream, set it. My curls lasted over 6 hours looking like they did above and then loosened a bit as the night wore on.

My second look is one of my favorite romantic looks for everyday hair. I love a half-up, half-down look and to keep it simple, fresh, and easy. You can see that my "before" shot is of my naturally semi-dry wavy hair. It looks imperfectly unkempt and my waves are usually just frizzy and a pain to deal with! To achieve my "after" curls, I followed the same procedure as the first look (minus conditioner today), drying my hair fully and then curling. I did a loose and fast curl today using larger sections of hair that was a bit freer than yesterday's wavy look. The curling process took about 15 minutes and then I finished it off with Conair bobby pins by taking a section of curled hair (about a 1/2") from the front of my head on both sides, twisting them, and pinning them behind my head with two bobby pins. I traditionally do this for work with straight hair but it works even better with curls and is super simple.
