*I shared the top half of this look in my Monday post, but I thought that the bottom half was too fuzzy to keep hidden.
I haven't shared a lot of wedding details on the blog lately and I think that's because I don't want to believe that the countdown is getting shorter, the to-do list longer, the bank account running dry(er), and my anxieties about deadlines mounting by the day. Coworkers and friends that dare to say, "wedding's getting close huh?!" are met with a very distressing face and a request to never mention it again. After a good bout of whining about it to a blogger friend, I was told to just suck it up and start on my invitations so that I can check one thing off the list. I'm sure she'd also recommend that I pick up a darn phone and call to get my dress altered. It was probably (and still is) the kick in the pants I needed. I drafted my invitation suite and feel confident enough to get moving on my invitations so that they'll be finished by late December. Now to buy the paper. Oh, the list!
Other than these wedding projects, I've got a list of mounting other concerns: increased rent in January when our lease is up; one million blog projects coming due; work drama; wedding guest drama (c'mon people, just be nice!); a Thanksgiving dinner to host; a Christmas party to plan; collaborations galore for the holiday season on the blog. Top it off with whining (a la this post). From me, friends, family, coworkers, and everyone around. The insane icing on the crazy cake that is the holidays.
If I have one holiday wish this season, it is for everyone (myself and the entire world) to just pipe down for the season and enjoy the magic of a scented candle, the fuzziness of a gigantic sweater, and piles of fallen leaves to jump around in for the coming few weeks before December. I promise to stop whining and check off my to-do list with a smile (for the next week at least), if you'll all join me. Let's grin and bear it.
