I had a bad day yesterday. First, my mom's brief visit came to an end when she walked me part way to work and I had to say goodbye. I still hate saying goodbye to my mom. She's an amazing friend and I wish I could spend every afternoon walking around town with her or getting a glass of Cotes du Rhone at a warm and cozy bar. It makes me want to cry just thinking about how far away she is from me now.
Second, I had a hard day at work for various reasons, one of which was the fact that I was still recovering from my flu and could hardly speak or breathe without coughing all day. I'd spent the night prior sleeping on the couch to not wake Ben or disturb his sleep with my coughing, and it turns out it's not a great sleeping spot! Third? I came home to my newly purchased bed frame and it was a 1/2" too small for my standard box spring. Really?! And finally, my cat started displaying all-too-familiar signs of a feline urinary tract infection, so we worried the night away giving him water.
So I didn't get a post up. Instead I slumped back on the couch, watching The Walking Dead and Hart of Dixie (because, guys, just because) and then went to bed early. And today, like all mornings after a storm, the sun came up, it was a gorgeous day, I threw together a print-happy (crazy?) outfit and wore it to work, snuggly and warm. I felt much better than yesterday, the cat seems better, and I'm going to return this bed frame and somehow find another that fits. This all will pass, and there's not much better than a pretty night strolling on the dock to seal in a good day after a rotten one!
Happy almost-weekend!
