Taking early morning photos apparently makes me look like a sleepy ghost. Pardon the pallor, folks. There was no filter that could correct the pale here.
I wore this to work today and felt snuggly and happy that for once, it wasn't drizzling down forty degree drops of rain. But overall, it was a rough day for a million and one reasons (most of which are not reasons at all, but a general sense of emotional malaise). Sometimes I just get in a huge funk about work, friends, the weather, the world, the apartment. But we do have some really interesting plans developing on the future.
We're currently renting this apartment in a townhome community and got a great deal on a really expensive space because it was the last un-renovated unit. The entire complex is undergoing the usual "granite countertop and wood floor" renovations that jack up prices about $200 a unit (don't we all experience this with apartment living), and so we signed a short lease with the knowledge that we'd have to leave this unit in May. It popped into my head that we could transfer units within the complex to a similarly priced, renovated unit with a garage and multiple floors. It doesn't necessarily mean a bigger space, but it does mean a garage with storage which floats my happy boat. This weekend we're going to look at a sample unit and see if we want to make the switch before the year is out. The bonus? Guaranteed lease past May and we can move just across the complex during winter break (for Ben).
I try not to think about these kinds of changes in my life because as I've described before, I'm high strung. Just thinking about a new place and new decor makes me so thrilled that I feel a bit nauseous. What's wrong with me folks? I can't ever just be content can I? Well, maybe when I'm watching Scandal and eating salami... then I suppose, all is well.

ReplyDeleteI love that skirt, it's so interesting. And I'm the same way. I get so nervous about doing things that I'm excited for that I get sick. Especially moving. But that does sound like a good deal.
