Work It

Top, pants, shoes, socks: c/o Ross
*Vote for my athletic look here

To be completely honest, I haven't been working out much lately. Life has been in the way and as I've lamented before, I already feel too rushed to do the things I love to add in yet another activity (that involves sweating and standing on an elliptical indoors). I do walk over three miles every day and often I get up to 5.5 to 6 miles so I haven't been feeling too remiss. The summertime has been an awesome time to get in my miles in - walking to and from work, out to dinner or to shop, and walking with Ben throughout the city under the super moon at dusk. I do know that summer is short-lived here as the winds are picking up, the mornings getting cold, and the clouds getting thicker. So working out is going to get back up to the top of that priority list faster than I can imagine.

Like every clothing-obsessed person, a new pair of work-out pants, shoes, socks, and sports bra, is enough to kick me into gear. And especially gear like this - insanely patterned pants that seem somewhat gallactic and yet also animalistic. I am kind of obsessed with brightly colored athletic shoes (Ben has lime green and grey pair of Adidas and I love mine with an aggressive bit of neon). For some reason they feel more inspiring when I head outdoors to exercise. I got this entire outfit, down to the comfy new socks, at Ross and am participating in week 3 of their fall fashion challenge. Be sure to head over to their Facebook page for a chance to win a gift card and vote for this look!

  1. Cute! I just got some pants like that, love them! I usually wear whatever weird combination of tank top + sports bra + same rotating pairs of black capris I can find for the gym, and change in the car on the way from work... not safe and with not cute results!! Ha!

    Very cool sponsorship!!

  6. Cute workout look! I love cute workout clothes because they make me feel better when I work out! And if I don't work out, they're great for running errands and pretending I did a tough workout. lol. I'm headed over to vote for :)

  7. I'm also guilty for not working out as I should. I have made the choice to work out while my son is in preschool--because between working out and cleaning, working out is the lesser evil! Ha ha!

  13. I haven't worked out in like a week. Bah. You definitely get a workout walking that much on a daily basis. Here's to us both getting back on the working out wagon. You do inspire me to buy more cute work out clothes though. That always helps!
