Southwest Arches

Washington state is definitely my home and has been for a good decade, but there will always be a little bit of a Texas flair hidden in there somewhere. I've never really had a southern accent, but when I'm particularly tired you may catch me drawing out my vowels or referring to 'you guys' as 'y'all'. This outfit isn't specifically "Texas", but it does have some southwestern elements. With a different belt and shoes I can dress this up for a night on the town, but add in flat boots and some denim and I have much more of a daytime look. By covering the large petal sleeves of this dress with my jacket, I take away a big focal point, hence the addition of my dramatic turquoise necklace (inherited from the artist herself and the queen of fabulously dramatic jewelry, my grandmother). It was pretty windy here today, so that is the cause of my rather large, lion-like hair. But maybe it works. I did grow up in Texas, after all.

Denim Jacket: Old Navy; Dress: h&m; Beaded belt: thrifted; Earrings, Necklace, and Cuff Bracelet: antique family heirloom
