Checks and Balances

This checked pattern skirt (also in corduroy!) is one I bought from ModCloth prior to taking my honeymoon in Victoria, B.C. I love the interesting pattern as a statement piece, and the neutral colors for something I can wear a ton of different ways. The fabric itself was great for travel since it resisted wrinkles. Yes, today was the first day of summer and even a little warm for our area of the country and still I felt like I needed this scarf, at least for the morning hours. I have seen such a vast array of new ways to wear a scarf that I ended up changing things up throughout the day. You'll see two different scarf styles above. Do you like one more than the other? Do you have other new and interesting ideas for wearing scarves?

  2. I am jealous that it was cool enough to wear a scarf out for you! It is so darn hot where I am that it feels almost impossible to look chic.

  3. That skirt is so great! I think I like the 2nd scarf tie better, but both are cute. I need to try out some of the different ways to tie scarves.

  6. I think the checkered skirt works great as a statement peice. And the neutral color would go with just about anything. I love it paired with the green and purple - so pretty! Can't wait to see how you transition the skirt into fall and winter!
