Flower Bed of Irises

This photoshoot, in a courtyard near my office, led me to a beautiful patch of irises. Who knew that in the chilly pre-summer of Washington, that I'd find a gorgeous blooming flower box? By pure luck, my outfit colors seemed to correspond - rich navy and deep plum skirt and tank, a white cable knit sweater with black piping, mimicing the center of the iris. We've had an unfortunate cold snap recently, but I wore a skirt as my office is under construction and it's ridiculously hot and muggy inside. This combination, and the open front sweater, made for a cool outfit that still looked work appropriate.

Cardigan: Forever21 (similar); Tank, shoes: Target (similar tank, shoes); Skirt: The Gap (similar style); Bag: Coach (thrifted); Three-strand pearls: graduation gift from my parents

  1. I'm a little jealous. Not only of that sweater, but of the fact that you can WEAR it right now there! It's already 90+ degrees here everyday. hehe. Fantastic outfit!

  9. The cardigan looks sooo utterly chique on you! And the best thing is you can combine it in a million ways, it would even be perfectly beautiful with a pair of (distressed) skinny jeans.
