I'm in love with this maxi dress I snagged at Target the other day. It's easy, has fun detailing on the back, and is my favorite of all fabrics: chiffon. I wasn't behind the maxi-dress trend when it first surfaced a few years ago (it looked so... old), but having such an easy closet option that always looks effortless is hard to pass up. I spend my week wearing pencil skirts that always need adjusting, casual Fridays wearing jeans or skinnies that don't have the lazy comfort of boyfriend jeans, and at 5 p.m. I want to take everything off and wear a blanket. Maxi dresses are clearly the answer to every single dressing problem. Wedding? Check. Summer? Check. Hot out? Check. Date night? Check. Friends lunch? Check. I could go on, but I won't. Get thyself to a maxi dress, ASAP.
In other news, Ben and I are attempting a low(er) carb diet inspired by the slow carb diet and it's day one and boy is it rough. Carbs are my favorite things (that's probably the reason I need to chill out on them). Who even knew that eating everything with any remote happiness factor had carbs? Dairy. No. Lemon popsicles. Bad. Naturally the bread categories, but even quinoa?! Wine? Nooope. Bye favorite food groups! In the amount of time it took me to google "carbs... what even?" I decided that this diet needed to be radically modified to "less carbs that are cheetos."
But really, wish me luck! Last night I made a delicious mock mashed potato out of cauliflower (it fooled me into thinking I was eating the good white carbs), some corn on the cob (which is apparently not great for the low carb diet, too, is that even real?), and salmon with lemon and dill. Hope you all had a great Monday night!
