Saturday at the Creperie

Sweater (similar), skirt (similar): Forever 21; Shoes: Target; Bag: Vintage Dooney and Bourke

Ben and I love to eat out and try new dishes and we make it a habit to check out new restaurants regularly. I once caught myself saying "I've always wanted to try that place..." about a steakhouse that was literally 10 minutes down the street and had received great reviews. Not to mention, they had insanely well-priced happy hour meals. I realized that saying "I've always wanted to try that..." or "I've always wanted to go there..." about a place in your own hometown is absolutely ridiculous. Just go. If it's ten minutes down the road, you don't have an excuse to spend three months, six months, a year, thinking "I've always wanted to try that." Now, whenever we hear of a new place, we're there within a week. I know too many people that have never tried a restaurant they've lived next to for ten years.

We feel the same way about trying new drinks, weird foods, or bizarre recipes. As young people with very little obligation to anyone but ourselves, we have the freedom to taste test, try things, and spend our disposable income doing what makes us happy. Granted this isn't always the best way to go - we have a whole jar of nasty marmite in the cupboard that was barely touched because Ben had to try it. In many ways, it makes our lives a lot more fun. When you frequent the same restaurant every single Wednesday night for a year, there's little that pushes your boundaries or makes you think outside of your routine. When we try someplace new, it feels like we're going on a new, fresh date. And I can't say no to that, especially after four and a half years!

The above photos are from a creperie that just opened in town! We made it for opening weekend and enjoyed amazing savory and sweet crepes. Here's to new experiences!
