Dress: Target; Pearls: Macy's

I was lucky enough to get to see the whole family on my trip to Hawaii (we're back home now) and we had a picnic down at a beach park known for its decimation by the tidal wave in the forties.  Besides being a historic site, it is also a gorgeous place with big black rocks that jut from the shoreline, interesting old piers, and a pretty blue ocean. We had a traditional Hawaiian lunch fare complete with lau lau (stewed ti leaf wrapped pork and fish), papaya and banana fruit salad, chicken long rice, lilikoi cheescake, crab salad, and fresh mussel and ahi poke. It was the perfect picnic to share with my grandparents, aunts, parents, and old family friends.

 I picked up this jersey maxi dress (on sale) from Target on the way out as I was tired of everything I'd packed. It ended up being absolutely perfect for a beach picnic and subsequently the plane ride home. A jersey maxi in grey seems like the perfect transitional piece for late fall to summer and I cannot wait to re-style it! Also, the pearls above were a birthday present from Ben - how gorgeous are they?
