If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen my countless photos of the twinkly lights in the apartment and the fact that I decorated for the holidays this weekend. Though the tree won't be cut down until the weekend following Thanksgiving, I am so happy to have my sparkly little woodland animals, and gold candle wreaths out. I also went to JoAnn's and Target today to pick the wrapping supplies that will be in great need come December 1. It's finally starting to feel like the chilly winter that I so love here in the Northwest.
It is actually so chilly that wearing this outfit without a jacket for photos nearly killed me. The blustery wind coming down from the snowy mountains is enough to make me huddle inside for weeks on end, covered in cardigans and blankets and the cat. I am personally holding out hope for a snow day but I know that in Portland that's not a sure thing. In Tacoma, we had our occasional snow storm that shut down the roads and schools and we were able to have snowball fights in the park on a work-day. I will definitely miss the gorgeous winter flakes if this year is a snow-no-show.
I'm really loving gold these days, as the holidays infiltrate the stores it's easy to come by, and these gold accents in my outfit are no exception. The boots are an obvious - who doesn't love a shoe toe dipped in gold! But my bangles are new to me as I'm a bit lacking in the gold jewelry department. I was sent this gorgeous set from Satya jewelry and just wanted to comment on how lovely they are. I've been wearing them non-stop since receiving and they're so light and airy that I hardly notice I have them on. Satya makes jewelry that's modern yet contains traditional meaning. This specific bracelet, and the reason I picked it out a ton of gorgeous pieces, is that each charm symbolizes a goal you're striving toward, large and small. Every time I wear it, I try to focus on that journey to the goal - keeping the positive thoughts on my arm helps me get through particularly trying days.
