On Friday, we woke up to very chilly temps and terrible wind chill and some pretty white flakes falling from the sky. From what I understand snow is a rarity in Portland and when it does fall, it goes away pretty quickly. It held true for Friday. By mid-day most of the snowfall (maybe an inch in the morning) had blown away with the 15 mile an hour winds and frigid temperatures in the teens. My walk home from work may have been the coldest I have ever been.
And then last night it hit the low teens here in the city and the wind had picked up yet again. Brr! However, it did make the holiday party that Jane and I threw here at my apartment festive! I didn't take a ton of photos because I was having a great time, but I thought I'd share the few that I did snap. I decorated the apartment in candy canes, festive holiday items, and red and white flower arrangements. It felt so cozy and warm inside with Ben and my friend Caitlin making gingerbread men in the warm kitchen. We had about 14 guests total and the apartment was very full with people drinking champagne and cranberry punch, red wine, spiked nog and eating an insane amount of delicious desserts. We have boxes of cookies still sitting around here. No idea how we're going to survive the season with these sitting around.
It was so nice to fill the house with friendly faces, new and old friends, and treats! A great first holiday season in Portland that was complete with hosting (my favorite thing ever). Today Caitlin and I went to a Stella and Dot jewelry brunch and I picked up some pretty pieces to add to my collection. I'll be sharing them here soon!
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and be sure to enter this amazing group giveaway below that I put together with these awesome ladies and sponsors! The giveaway will run through next week Sunday and you can win $140 to Target!
