Coral Sunsets

Photography: Leah Hope Photography

Top: Gap; Skirt: Ann Taylor; Heels: Michael Kors; Necklace: Stella and Dot (on sale!)

This outfit is one of my summer work style looks - a nude-ish heel, bright red polish on my fingers and toes, an eyelet skirt to keep cool in the bright sun, and a pop of coral. I think it is hard to break out of my navy and black and white routine, but when I do add a color into my wardrobe, I find myself so happy when I'm wearing it. The color seems to radiate off of my clothes and into my spirit. It also doesn't hurt that having some shoulders exposed and some blooming freckles feels more casual and less buttoned up than winter work attire.

When I went out to take some photos with the darling Leah, she commented on how fun it was to photograph vibrant color - the green in Portland's parks and forests, the bright of a summer top, the blue in someone's eyes. I have to agree with her. The beauty of flowers and freshly watered grass is something to be loved and cherished. Here in Denver, the homes are bright and colorful, giant roses and sunflowers dotting lawns, big purple flowers blooming on street corners. I can't help but see color everywhere we go this summer. Bring it on, world!
