Summer beauty to me is bare-faced. That elusive no-make-up make-up look that leaves you looking sun-kissed and not overdone. On the perfect summer day, you don't have time to reapply heavy coats of foundation in favor of reapplying sunscreen and dashing from park to park and outdoor activity to open-air restaurant. This weekend in Denver, we spent so much time on the go, in the warm and dry Colorado sunshine, that I just stowed some summer makeup staples in my bag and used them quickly while on the go - reapplying this Revlon lip stain in car mirrors and in reflective store windows and touching up my nails with a simple, professional nude Essie polish when they chipped terribly after a bought on some playground swings.
My no-make-up make-up look above seemed to match the setting sun over the Rockies that we've been fortunate enough to watch from our hotel balcony. Basking in such a warm glow each night, temps in the high seventies or eighties by the time the sun sets, has been nothing short of magic. But that being said, I am so happy to be returning to Portland tomorrow to a place where my lip stain doesn't evaporate within minutes in the 100 degrees and my eyeliner doesn't drip off my face every time I go from AC to unregulated outdoor temps. More to come of these simple makeup looks as the summer wanes - there's little better than a low maintenance look (from Walgreens no less) for a busy busy summer.
