Eat, Drink, and Be Married

Dress: Target (old); Flats: Target; Clutch: GiGi New York

Last night Ben and I were fortunate enough to be invited to a friends' wedding out in the countryside near Portland. In the middle of farm land, teensy Christmas tree farms (see behind me) and rolling fields, we watched two friends get married at a lovely barn wedding. The only downfall? It was 100 degrees outside, in direct sun, and probably 110 in the barn. Beautiful candle-lit tables and massive blowing fans battled it out as we all fanned ourselves and drank excessive amounts of water. I am pretty sure they saved on alcohol costs from me alone drinking 12 mason jars full of water instead of 12 glasses of Chardonnay.

We snagged some photos outside when we left at sunset. I know I've worn this dress on the blog many a time before but it's so awesome that I can't help but tout it's versatility once again. It's perfect for a hot day as the skirt is mostly only one layer of breezy fabric, it's mostly backless (perfect for sweating it out under the sun). It works for brunches, lunches, dinners. It works for summer weddings or strolls along the shore. Finally, the fabric shows no wear (going on year 2 of owning it) and it was probably only $25 when I purchased it. Again, the power of Target prevails!

Hope you all had an awesome weekend!

  1. That is a great dress for that kind of wedding! Fortunately you don't look like you were sitting in a 110 degree barn!

  10. Love the dress!

I have to say...I have bad luck with outdoor weddings! All but one I've attended have been during heatwaves and that one...well, there was a rainstorm in the middle of it!
