Fuzzy Wuzzy

Sweater: c/o Chicwish (on sale!); Top: Ann Taylor; Jeans: Gap; Booties: Ross

*I shared the top half of this look in my Monday post, but I thought that the bottom half was too fuzzy to keep hidden.

I haven't shared a lot of wedding details on the blog lately and I think that's because I don't want to believe that the countdown is getting shorter, the to-do list longer, the bank account running dry(er), and my anxieties about deadlines mounting by the day. Coworkers and friends that dare to say, "wedding's getting close huh?!" are met with a very distressing face and a request to never mention it again. After a good bout of whining about it to a blogger friend, I was told to just suck it up and start on my invitations so that I can check one thing off the list. I'm sure she'd also recommend that I pick up a darn phone and call to get my dress altered. It was probably (and still is) the kick in the pants I needed. I drafted my invitation suite and feel confident enough to get moving on my invitations so that they'll be finished by late December. Now to buy the paper. Oh, the list!

Other than these wedding projects, I've got a list of mounting other concerns: increased rent in January when our lease is up; one million blog projects coming due; work drama; wedding guest drama (c'mon people, just be nice!); a Thanksgiving dinner to host; a Christmas party to plan; collaborations galore for the holiday season on the blog. Top it off with whining (a la this post). From me, friends, family, coworkers, and everyone around. The insane icing on the crazy cake that is the holidays.

If I have one holiday wish this season, it is for everyone (myself and the entire world) to just pipe down for the season and enjoy the magic of a scented candle, the fuzziness of a gigantic sweater, and piles of fallen leaves to jump around in for the coming few weeks before December. I promise to stop whining and check off my to-do list with a smile (for the next week at least), if you'll all join me. Let's grin and bear it.

  2. No matter how crazy things get, just keep remembering that you don't have to be responsible for keeping a newborn alive in a matter of weeks and that should always make you feel better...lol :) Also, I think I need Meredith to work her magic to keep me motivated to finish my to-dos! These pictures are super cute btw, I love how they turned out!

  3. Huh, sounds like you have a ton of things going on and a lot on your plate, but I think that a part of solving this overwhelming period is to ask for help from your closest people.
I love to multitask and do everything on my own, but sometimes you just can't solve everything by yourself and do need couple of "shoulders" to help you carry the weight.
Also, take one thing at the time, the ones that need to be taken care of first, what you can put off and not stress about right now, then do put them on a stand by.

  6. That sweater just looks so cozy! I have to disagree that the leaves are fun, but that's because I have to clean them and I know there's more than leaves in there as I pick them up.... but I'm with you on the increase of amazing candles that are now in season. And just remember, tackle that list just consistently and it'll whittle down, so don't focus on the length of it! You will successfully do it!

  20. Lol.. I'm terrible about having a lot to do because then I end up doing nothing instead.

I'm with you on the candles and sweaters, but I've already had a lot of snow where I live so no leaf piles for me! Lol.
