Emerald City

Top: J. Crew; Jeans: Gap; Booties: Ross; Necklace: c/o PopSugar

The phrase goes "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" but I'm pretty sure it's "an off day keeps the doctor away" because this holiday Monday just refreshed my entire body/soul/spirit/life. You name it and it feels better. Ben and I woke at nine, ate a leisurely breakfast, headed to a wetlands, tasted chocolate at a chocolate factory, ate super-hot wings, crossed yet another brewery off our list, and then finished the day with delicious turkey, apple and arugula sandwiches and an Oscar Best Picture nominee. It was full, my eyes are exhausted, and I can't wait to nestle down in the comforter and wake ready for the rest of the work week. There's seriously nothing like a day off to make you feel new again.

On a totally different subject entirely, I am obsessed with this blouse. It was on super-sale over the holidays (for being called something like "Evergreen" or a similarly holiday-titled color) and I snagged it for under $25 in two colors. It looks perfect with leggings (it's long), with a pair of boyfriend or skinny jeans (tucked in), and works perfectly for casual wine tasting, or work events. I am thrilled to add it to my closet and highly recommend it. Find it in black or navy here

Hope you all had a fantastic long weekend!

  12. Sounds like you guys really took advantage of your Monday off! My mom, sister and niece came to visit for the weekend but Monday was sad because they had to go home :( The color of your top is so gorgeous! If those shoes go missing, it's because I stole them ;)

  14. that dark green is such a beautiful color. I just bought a coat in it actually - it is really flattering with brown hair and on lighter skin tones!

  15. A day off IS good for the soul! I forgot until last week that we didn't have MLK day off, so I was at work minus a long dentist appointment. :/ Oh, well... I hope my next holiday is more like yours!

    Lovely top and necklace!

  16. Are you kidding? She does NOT need to lose weight. So sad when people further that myth that everyone needs to lose weight to be prettier.

    Apologize for the soapbox.
