Bra + underwear: c/o ThirdLove; Blouse: J. Crew (on super sale for $24 in select colors); Ring dish: Monique Lhullier
I'm obsessed with pretty additions to my wardrobe (so much so that I'll watch my tracking apps religiously when I order something new), so when I had the chance to try out ThirdLove for some pretty, new intimates, I didn't hesitate. Despite my love of pretty silk blouses (like the insanely on-sale J.Crew one above), embellished skirts, pale, fuzzy sweaters, and little whisper-thin gold jewelry, I am a pretty practical undergarment shopper. I have a few boring camisoles that could use refreshing. Most of my bras are t-shirt bras in black or nude and like most everyone, they're in dire need of replacing more often than I do. I just got a pair of gorgeous new pajamas, but they're a vintage men's pajama look (no lace, no frills). I tend to think of my top dresser drawer (that holds socks, bras, underthings, workout clothes, and PJs) to be a bit more utilitarian than the rest of my closet.
Looking through ThirdLove's extensive collection of both the practical and the pretty, I felt at home. ThirdLove was created by a woman that dreaded bra shopping (same here!) and found herself groaning when she needed to go out and replace her bras. She founded the company to make bra shopping easy, from the comfort of your own home (or phone), and even created an app that helps you determine your bra size. It takes two minutes in a tank top to figure out your fit. This is serious business folks. No awkward dressing room moments with lingerie salespeople. Just you, your phone, and your actual bra size. The second mission of ThirdLove was to create luxurious, European-inspired bras that didn't demand high prices. If you take a second to peruse their bras, you'll see what I mean. Great prices and gorgeous pieces. Bras run about $64 with free shipping and 10% off for new customers and underwear is around $20-$24 and often on sale.
The final bit about ThirdLove that I'm sort of obsessed with is their commitment to helping you find the right bra (and the prettiest one, too), so much so that they ditched conventional sizing and introduced 1/2 sizing to the underwear world. Yes please. The majority of people wear the wrong bra size (no surprise there) and 1/2 sizing can nix many of those issues (too tight, too gaping, just too big/just too small).
If you're in need of some better sizing, easier bra purchases and a bunch of pretties to store in your top drawer, I'd highly recommend ThirdLove. I'm in love with my recent purchases and the ease of the app!
