When I get overwhelmed, I recede, like a turtle, into a shell of comfy clothes. The arrival of the oversized, soft, and comfy sweatshirt onto the "actually acceptable style" stage couldn't have suited me better. I'm not one for sneakers or baggy pants in public, so in the comfy style area, I'm left without many options. And I'm always stressed out about something. This week? It's a ton of work, some awesome calligraphy projects (for my Etsy store, which launched a few weeks ago!), wedding planning madness as we approach a two-month countdown, and blogging opportunities all clamoring for attention. I am excited to get to work on everything, but the looming deadlines have me all itchy (thanks, stress!) and chilly and in need of the adult version of a binky/blankey/or teddy bear.
This Gap sweatshirt is one of my current favorites because it's dressed up (quilted and in dusty pink), yet impossibly soft inside and feels as if it was made for hibernating bunny rabbits or something equally small and soft. I actually wear this to work a lot because I feel that it can pair with slacks or a skirt and not look too ridiculous. All hail the dressy sweatshirt!
Designers must have our best interests at heart, because there are a ton of options out there in this category. I am obsessed with each of the ones below (scalloped hems? sage green? quilted in cream and grey?) and they're all crazy on sale at Shopbop!
