Crocheted August

Sweater, sunglasses: American Eagle (similar sweater, sunglasses); Top, shorts: Forever 21 (similar topsimilar shorts); Shoes, bag: Target (shoes, bag c/o Living thru Fashion giveaway); Necklace: Hand-me-down pearls; Ring: Found antiquing in Oregon

I've been feeling particularly outfit-lackluster on the blog recently due to my shopping diet (my pre-budget motto seemed to be "blogging before budgeting" and I've since reversed it) but care of my mom, I just got both the sweater and sunglasses in the mail and was able to put together something fresh (thanks, mom!). It has been August-hot here lately and so this open weave sweater certainly let some cool Puget Sound breezes blow through my outfit.

My boyfriend took these photos today as we were already in the park taking portraits... of him! He has to submit a headshot (well, they asked for a passport-style photo and I took it as a good excuse for a portrait photo-shoot) with many of his med school applications. We walked around the park looking for the perfect green, shaded and empty spot for photos, settling on this grassy hill that CP and I have taken outfit photos on before. We had to dodge the metal concert that was happening on an outdoor stage nearby, but I think that the sound of screaming bearded men and electric guitars just added some oomph to our photo-shoots and expressions.

I wanted to also let you guys know that we're doing ad and button swapping. You can grab our button at the bottom of the right hand sidebar and we'd love to host yours as well. Shoot us an email at ladiesinnavy@gmail.com and we can chat! Happy Sunday, all!

  3. hey, i just stumbled across your blog, but I absolutely love it. Everything-from the layout to your killer sense of style-is amazing. I especially love this look. You look stunning! That crochet top has an almost edgy vibe that's so chic, and I love how you feminized it with the peter-pan color blouse. So cute! I am your newest fan. Could you check out my blog at www.rogue-collection.blogspot.com as well? i would love to follow each other. Thanks :)

  5. I have a tough time with that type of open weave sweater... but I really like the way you styled it. I might try to find mine and give it another shot.
