The Place Beyond the Pines

Sweater: American Eagle (similar); Top: Gap; Pants (similar), coat: H&M; Shoes: Bandolino (similar)

Ben and I went down to our local independent theatre today to watch The Place Beyond the Pines, which came out here last night. After waiting in a substantial line for our tiny theatre in the blustery, freezing weather, we were happy to park inside the packed theatre for a few hours with a big bucket of delicious popcorn. The movie was very very well done... and if it hadn't been, I would not have cared. Who doesn't want to spend three hours with Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper? It was extremely heavy, however, and I kept bursting into spontaneous tears. When we emerged into the late afternoon light, I was happy to see happy people wandering about instead of the brooding, bashed up characters in the film. If you're in the mood for something heavy, I do recommend it, but if you need a pick-me-up then stay clear.

I was having one of those days today where my face just didn't look right. I don't know if you guys ever experience this but sometimes I keep heaping on eyeliner and straightening my hair and I still feel like I look wan and tired and weird (and then also like a raccoon with the eyeliner heaped on). Pretty sure means I need some sun on my face, as the longer winter carries on, the more often I feel this way. Here's to hoping that some warm sun finally peeks out in late April and can solve my facial woes. Happy Saturday!
