Afternoons Among the Flowers

Top: Gap (similar); Pants: The Limited; Shoes: c/o Lulu*s; Bracelet: Macy*s

I have been neglecting the work-style elements of the blog lately. With spring and then summer's arrival, it felt so much nicer to feature pretty, bright, weekend outfits rather than my boring slacks, but the truth is that I wear work style more often than casual style. Well that and my robe... But that's not really blog appropriate.

I actually wear slacks pretty rarely in the warmer months to work. It might be because I have only two pairs I really love (from The Limited), or because I have a large collection of pencil skirts and they always seem so much more fun. When I put these on today after a few weeks left untended in the closet, I thought about how much I love a wide leg. I'm not a big fan of wider leg casual pants - palazzo or parachute or pajama style or wide leg - but somehow slacks just get away with it. The wide leg highlights heels perfectly, makes legs look longer, and is generally extremely comfortable. I think I need to invest some more time in buying great-fitting slacks. Or I need some great recommendations for wider-leg casual pants. Any thoughts?

  19. I wish that I have longer legs to rock flare trousers because I don't wear heels often. But you look great in those pants.

  22. Dang, those shoes just go with everything, I love them! And I totally agree about slacks. I get the editor style ones from Express and they have a wider leg that I just love... super comfy. But for jeans and other pants I prefer skinnies.

  27. My favorite pants (many years ago when I actually had to wear business clothes to work) were from JCrew. It's so hard to find a pant that keeps it's color after several cleanings. JCrew always did it for me!

  34. Sorry, have been gone for a while and am finally catching up with my favorite blogs .. well not anywhere near with catching up, but I am working on it! :p I love the combo of coral and Tiffany blue! :) And your outfit goes so well with the surrounding; i.e. flowers!
Funny thing; I only have two trousers as well and I love them both! I am pretty sure, I am gonna have to look for some more when I start my proctor-ship at the hospital next year...
