Weekend Jeans

Top: Target in stores (similar, similar); Jeans: Paige Denim; Shoes: BCBG (similar); Jacket: The Limited (similar)

In Nordstrom yesterday I decided it was finally time to break down and buy some jeans. You may have noticed that I never wear plain old jeans on the blog and it's largely because I had some jeans that went out of style and haven't had an updated pair of jeans in ages. But I headed into a dressing room with about a million pairs of jeans - white jeans, peg jeans, skinny jeans, cropped jeans, and the ever-popular boyfriend jean (a trend that just isn't working for my thighs, folks). I tried some Citizens for Humanity jeans, 7 for all Mankind, Wit and Wisdom, Kut from the Kloth. I tried ripped jeans, light wash jeans, dark wash jeans, distressed but not ripped jeans, jeans that could hardly get over my heel, and jeans that made me look like I needed a "Wide Load" sign affixed to my rear. But there was a distinct difference in trying on jeans in Nordstrom rather than Target H&M, Forever 21 - even if I inevitably hated the cut/color/cloth...

They all fit.

This is probably old news for you designer-jean-buyers but I pulled fours and sixes from the racks and they fit. They may not have been the perfect wash for me or hit the right spot on the leg, but they fit. That doesn't happen to me very often in other stores. In H&M, I need an 8-10 in skinny jeans where I'm normally a 4-6. In Target, sometimes I fit a 2 and sometimes I fit a 12. Usually the waist gapes, the thigh-area is too tight, and the calves loose. The process is exhausting!

I finally settled on these skinny, Paige Denim jeans and am in love. They feel like jean butter (is that a thing?) on my legs, they fit me perfectly in the butt, the hips, they don't strangle my calves, they have give but not too much give, and I don't look like I was poured and molded into them with a shoe heel. The jeans were on sale, but not cheap, and I was once again reminded that you're always paying for what you're getting. If the jean is $19, it's going to look like $19 dollars and last about $19 worth of time. Anyway, I'm over the moon and I am NOT taking these jeans off. Ever.

What brand of jeans do you all buy? Linking up with YOLO Mondays.

  6. You look great! I love that top and the jeans are perfect on you. I tend to stick to Gap jeans (even though they're not the best quality out there) because I fit into one of their sizes pretty well and they're comfy :)

  17. these look great on you! so true that nicer brands will fit so much better. i used to have a lot of nicer jeans but they also went out of style too so i need an upgrade. my go-to skinny jeans right now are actually from american eagle! they've faded a bit but serve their purpose for now.

  18. The first para really made me laugh.. I guess you left no jean (stone) unturned! Well, you are so right about the part that we get what we pay for. Even I don't wear jeans that often, since I consider it as the last thing to wear when nothing else is there to wear, or I am in no mood of styling my clothes! But then I love jeans by Zara, they fit really well too!
P.S. The fifth picture of yours is really cute! And the jeans is undoubtedly looking amazing!
