Remixed Silk

Blazer: H&M (similar save, similar spend), ; Top: Steven Alan; Skirt: H&M (similar save, similar spend); Shoes: Macy's

I know you recently saw this new tank top in another post, but I was thrilled at its versatility and could resist showing you how I styled it for work. I have a really difficult time buying things that I can't wear to work, so I am always on the lookout for items or combination pieces that can make a not-so-business-casual item work for... well work. This tank works so well as a pretty, summery top. It's blouse-y, has straps that request strapless bras, and is brightly colored and it begs to be worn on it's own.  However, to get the maximum value, I knew it needed to come to work with me. Plus I didn't want to take it off. Layering it over this skirt was a fun way to change the entire look and to minimize the volume of the tank, I belted it at the waist. I was worried about the tank plus pencil skirt combo was going to destroy any hint of a figure. Tack on a cuffed blazer and voila, work appropriate.

In other less stylish news, I am all alone this week as Ben's gallivanting on a farm across the country with his grandparents. I was having a bit of a rough adjustment period yesterday, but today I'm feeling good! I have packing plans, dinner with friends, TV shows to watch and all together too much to do. It should be a productive week while he's away!
