Long Lines

Blazer: H&M; Top: Chicnova; Jeans: Paige Denim; Heels: Anne Klein

I wore this out on a date night with Ben tonight. We visited Bamboo Sushi on the east side and after waiting for ages with delicious cocktails, were seated in front of the sushi prep and had an amazing time watching the chefs prepare sliced avocados, nigiri, inari, sashimi, and classic rolls. It was well-worth the wait, and the blackberry puree and lemon lime cocktails were certainly not shabby!

We then headed across the water, back to the West side, to go to the famed Salt and Straw. After waiting in another substantial Portland line for food, sandwiched between some high school seniors complaining about their moms being crazy and some college freshman talking about being scared of staying in the dorms over Thanksgiving, we were thrilled to get our ice cream and head out. We tried various crazy flavors and I was shocked to LOVE the thai chili and coconut and even more amazed that I loved the olive oil flavor (it was so sweet and perfect yet still reminiscent of olive oil). The sweet corn and waffle cone ice cream created by a Michelin starred chef was Ben's choice and I ended up picking Stumptown coffee and local Burnside bourbon ice cream. It was certainly an experience and I only regret that I didn't try sea urchin and meringue ice cream. What on earth could that have been like?!

All in all, this was the perfect date night outfit - a blazer for the chilly night and that perfect white top, jeans, and heels classic look! We're now bundled up at home watching L.A. Confidential (working through a classic film list) and happy to have a weekend ahead!

  7. So chic in this look, that jacket is so pretty! Is so funny but yet sometimes annoying to over hear people on the next table, their stories are the craziest, lol.

I've always wanted to try weird flavors of ice cream like that but can't find anywhere like that near where I live.
