Let's Go Boating

This weekend Ben and I hopped aboard the Portland Spirit, booked through the experience company Xperience Days, for a brunch cruise that we fondly discovered to also be a booze cruise down the Willamette. I walk to work every day past this boat, parking romantically along the waterfront and often see couples and families boarding for dinner or brunch cruises. While we hadn't had the chance to buy tickets and head out, it was definitely on the list of things-to-do in Portland.

We had an absolute blast on the 2 hour trip. When we boarded the boat, we were immediately seated next to a window, watching the green river slide by, and our cruise director filled our glasses with champagne. That's a welcome I never say no to. And then I saw the peppered bacon filling a buffet table tray and all things were good in my world. Ben and I sampled just about everything available at the brunch including bagels and lox, fruit trays, cheese plates, roast beef, ham, eggs benedict, little pastries, bacon, sausages, and french toast. We were pretty stuffed by the time the boat started off down the river.

Ben and I headed up to the top of the boat when the sun came out on the way back into Portland. Up on deck the captain was narrating the trip and kids could head into the cabin to drive the boat for a bit. Ben and I wandered around the deck with our champagne taking photos and enjoying the lazy cruise up the river.

Besides the champagne, I just loved the views and the green water. It was overall a really lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. And then we napped, because there's no recuperating from unlimited champagne brunches in any other style.

I was provided tickets from XperienceDays for the purpose of this review but all opinions contained within are my own.
