My Life in Lace

Dress: c/o Eshakti; Coat: c/o Choies; Heels: Michael Kors; Necklace: c/o Our World Boutique

I'm sitting here watching the Oscars, women in fabulous dresses, men in navy (hooray for ladies men in navy!), and it only seems fitting that I'd be wearing a custom and fabulous dress myself from Eshakti in this post. Custom because Eshakti offers for-your-body, hallelujah-moment modification options. I changed the neckline on this pretty lace number to be more flattering to my shape - the boat neck always accents my neck/hair/face shape, and minimizes the bust. Much better than a deep V or a scoop neck that just makes me look... wide.

I'm no red carpet star. I'm sitting here wearing a jacket covered in cat hair, drinking a french white wine covered in dust from a bowl of popcorn and criticizing celebrities on their speeches and outfits. But there are moments in all of our lives when we really feel like red carpet stars. When we have the opportunity to put on a floaty, flowy, lacy dress and strut. When we can curl our hair and wear pretty jewelry, with painted nails (do you see my nails people?! They're GROWING!). I feel strongly that custom dresses exist for this reason - to make you feel fabulous on a regular day. If Valentino is not going to make me some gorgeous ensemble for an awards ceremony, I at least should be able to order clothing tailored to my shape. The second-place, non-celebrity prize feels pretty fantastic today.
