Sunday Emporium

Last Sunday, with nothing to do but enjoy the sunshine and our beautiful city, Ben and I headed out to a new Sunday market that's popped up on the East-side of the city - the Sunday Emporium at Rejuvenation. Rejuvenation is amazing in itself. It's a part of the Williams-Sonoma, West Elm complex, but offers more hardware than furniture. Think lighting, door knobs, and bathroom installations.

The emporium is happening every last Sunday of the month through September and merges the Rejuvenation space with local vendors that make rugs, sell copper pots, offer pottery pieces and glassware. There's also an antiques and used-item room that's a melding of flea-market and old-farm-equipment chic. It's a great melding of big-store and little-designer in one gorgeous space. The emporium also has a little flower shop, some food and coffee to tide you over for your hours of drooling excessively.

After the emporium, we crossed the street to the Grand Marketplace (conveniently located on SE Grand street) to peruse some cheaper, flea-market wares. The Grand Marketplace is an awesome spot with tons of flea vendors all permanently installed into the space. We saw some cool furniture, glassware, lighting, trinkets, tons of succulents, and art pieces. They also encourage photography and eating while browsing which is right up my alley. The Water Avenue coffee shop inside has amazing lattes and Laurette Jeans baked goods, so you can breakfast while shopping. If you're not endeared by that sentence, then we're not on the same page.

All in all, a great way to spend a Sunday morning or afternoon in Portland. Hope you're all enjoying equally fun Sundays browsing about your city!
