Countdown to Feast

This is going to be a crazy week. Or, crazy upcoming week-end to be exact. Feast kicks off with a whole host of events, parties, and celebrations mid-week. I've already mentioned it once before, but I thought I'd draw attention to how excited I am one more time (and encourage you to hop aboard the celebration of Oregon's awesome food and drink scene).

Feast takes place from the 18th-21st of this month (September) and is an awesome culmination of culinary talents here in Portland (and around the Northwest). It features Oregon's best produce, meats, chefs, and wines/beers/spirits. I'll be attending a few events this year and will be sure to cover it all on Instagram and later on the blog as a food-photo-heavy recap. Be warned. But follow along if you want to spend your weekend drooling. A lot of the events are currently sold out but here are a few you can still attend!

I will be attending the Friday and Saturday Grand Bounty Tastings (from 12-5 p.m. each day) - watching some panel presentations and enjoying awesome bites. The tastings are not going to disappoint as they feature some of my favorite breweries (Double Mountain, Ninkasi, Gigantic) and wineries (Archery Summit, Domaine Drouhin, Sokol Blosser) and crazy good food artisans like Jacobsen Sea Salt, Olympic Provisions, Salt and Straw. You can still buy tickets for the tastings at the link above!

(That image above is from an event I'm NOT going to and that's sold out, but it looks so lovely. USA Pears Night Market at Zidell Yards includes transportation that's a karaoke bus... who wouldn't want to do that!).

The Widmer Brewing Sandwich Invitational still has 110 tickets left but get on them fast! Portland is such an awesome sandwich mecca that I wouldn't want to miss the great showdown of sandwiches. 14 chefs will compete at this event to make the best sandwich while you sip beer and wine.

You can still snag tickets to a walk around tasting that promises not to disappoint - the Oregonian Media Group High Comfort at the Nines. Get comfort food reinvented by some of the top chefs in Portland and sips galore from Oregon's wineries. I am guessing that this is going to be a wow-event especially when the chefs are working in the realm of crowd favorites, pushed to a new haute cuisine level. I cannot wait to attend!

Hope to see you there!
