Daisy Chain

Top: c/o Chicwish (on sale!); Jeans: Gap; Heels: Guess (old)

I'm not sure that any weekend is ever long enough. And every week, they seem to get shorter and shorter until weekends feel like they're just half days off. I know it has been said ad nauseum, but I really need to add a day between Saturday and Sunday. Another day of rest, perhaps.

This weekend, we had another unseasonably nice bout of weather. While the Northeast is attempting to thaw and de-ice, we've been hitting weekend 60-degree, sunshine-y days and all of our spring blossoms are emerging. The tulip, dogwood and cherry blossom trees are thoroughly confused and blooming like mad. On a weekend hike, we saw spring leaves shooting up and reaching for the dappled light. I hope we don't have a frost that destroys spring from continuing to bloom. What a weird year for weather. I can't say I am complaining about the sunshine streaming in, though.

On Saturday, we even embarked on some spring cleaning in our garage and opened up the doors and windows to just let the air blow in and out of the apartment. We finally had the chance to reorganize our storage bins, take some loads of old books and shoes to Goodwill, get rid of the bane-of-my-existence couch that has been sitting in the garage for almost a year now (ugh!), and sweep the entire garage. It feels good to have purged everything and aired our house and garage out. It may only be February, but the house is feeling spring-fresh. If this weather keeps up, we may be organized and totally purged of clutter by late March. Here's to hoping!

Hope you all had a great, productive weekend!

  2. While you guys were getting rid of stuff, we brought some in! We hit up a garage sale nearby to get yard care tools... and a little wagon for Peeper. All very necessary, of course. ;)

  6. What a pretty top! I love how you dressed it down with jeans so that the eyelet detailling looks a little less dainty and so much more wearable. Just gorgeous :)
