Snakeskin

I just love these ambiguously colored Limited slacks, regardless of the trouble they give me. They're labeled as "cocoa brown," but refuse to match with brown shoes or black shoes and look terrible with either color purse. I usually tend to stick with brown accessories as in the direct sunlight they are much browner than grey and I look silly if I'm caught with black flats on. I went all brown today with my accessories, choosing a moccasin flat, a brown leather belt, and a vintage snakeskin clutch my mother passed down to me. I think the deep browns brought out the color of the slacks well. My bracelet is from Durban, South Africa and was made for a charitable AIDS centre trust. My boyfriend brought it back when he studied abroad there two years ago - it's made of plastic beads which means I can actually wear an accessory, a rare occurrence for someone allergic to any non-precious metal.

Top: Ann Taylor LOFT; Slacks: The Limited; Belt, shoes: American Eagle (similar belt, similar shoes); Clutch: Vintage snakeskin clutch handed down from my mother; Bracelet: bought in Durban, South Africa by my boyfriend from the Hillcrest Aids Center Trust

  5. Must be annoying to be allergic to non-precious metals :( On a happier note, that top is a gorgeous colour on you. I also love how you pinned your hair back :)

  8. I know what you mean about trouble with the browns. It all seems to work well in these shots, though. That belt is fab.

  9. That turquoise color is just stunning on you! I think the way you styled the pants matches well and I never would've known you were having trouble with that shade!
