Rainstorm

On Memorial Day, I attempted to get some (cute) outfit photos in my new bright pink Gap shorts... but then this happened - insane Monday downpours that flooded our sidewalks and streets. We ended up needing to go out for groceries for dinner and piled on whatever could get sopping wet (hence the flip-flops) and dry quickly and so, oh well. No outfit photos today, but there are some good puddle shots above. I clearly needed some cute Spring Hunter rain-boots for the occasion to splash around.

Memorial Day turned out to be a very lazy day. We did some laundry, cleaned the apartment, bought new sheets at TJ Maxx and a new throw pillow for the living room. We made some delicious no-flour pancakes from toasted coconut and bananas, read books, and I took a good three hour nap (as I am prone to do on lazy days). I wished we could have been by a body of water in the sun, with cut-offs and American flag tees on, eating burgers and brats, but Washington had sleepy plans for us.

My brother arrives this week Wednesday and is staying with us for a few days. It's been two and half years since I've seen him and I am overjoyed. Hope you all had a great long-weekend! Linking up with Keeping it Casual.

  5. Your umbrella is so cute! We had bad rain on Friday and Saturday but at least it forced me to do some cleaning/organizing. :)

  10. We had a pretty similar (rainy and thus lazy) Memorial Day. I definitely wish it was sunny, but at least the other weekend days were nice enough! I want some Hunter boots too. Definitely a must in the Northwest. Those toasted coconut + banana pancakes sound delicious!!

  32. Hi there! I saw you over at His Little Lady and thought I'd stop by and say hi because I'm a Pacific NW blogger, too. We didn't get the best weather this year for Memorial Day, did we? :-( Kind of a bummer but I'm still hoping for a stellar summer!
