Quintessential Portland with Lulu*s

Top, skirt, heels, necklace: c/o Lulu*s

Portland is many things. It's both a big city and a tiny one - you can walk across downtown proper in a matter of an hour and you can get lost on the one-way streets, yet always end up at the same cross streets (SW 4th and Yamhill, why must you always follow me around?!). It's a stylish city, women in gorgeous heels and tailored business casual wear, and yet the least fashion conscious city I've ever been in, where people wear old and new and never in style all at once.

It's a city all about eating delicious, greasy, lick-your-lips food truck meals and yet it's a locavore hotspot and colleagues both frequent the food trucks and bring their own home grown vegetables for lunch. It's impossible to get through the city without spending money, with all the fabulous things surrounding you, and yet everyone rides public transportation and re-uses, recycles, and up-cycles everything they own.

It's a confusing place to navigate, but ultimately totally loveable. Ben and I wandered to one of the many food truck pods in the city to snap some photos of this all Lulu*s outfit (omg shoes) and kept stumbling across gorgeous quintessential spaces in Portland - miniature rose gardens amongst the city streets (apropos for the City of Roses), amazing brick buildings and murals and fun city walls to pose against, and a beautiful green park in the middle of skyscrapers.
