Neutrogena Naturals Giveaway

I grew up a bit off the grid in Hawaii and we caught all of our water in catchment tanks. We had two very large tanks on the property. I don't think that's a normal part of most people's adolescent experience, but it certainly focused my bathroom grooming habits around water conservation rather than excessive usage. In the summers when we experienced droughts, we had to minimize our water use down to the bare minimum. That included ship showers - water only on when you needed to rinse -or two minute showers when it was less critical. During the rainy season, we didn't have any limits on water usage, but 18 years of on and off conservation made me into a person that doesn't dawdle in the shower, or leave water running when brushing my teeth, or doing the dishes.

Starting at the beginning of October, Neutrogena's brand ambassador Kristen Bell started the "Every Drop Counts" campaign to focus on saving water in our everyday beauty routines. You can pledge to change your grooming habits on the Neutrogena Facebook page and be entered to win a luxury green spa trip in Napa valley. It's kind of fascinating to look at the statistics surrounding water usage, some of which are featured on the page after you pledge to conserve. Did you know that the average shower lasts 7.5 minutes? If everyone cut down on their shower time by three minutes, we'd save 25 million gallons of water a week! When you think about the colossal amount of resources we waste on a daily basis just to have some personal thinking time in the shower, it's mind boggling.

Neutrogena just released the Neutrogena Naturals line that offers some amazing products (I just started using their purifying facial cleanser and I adore it) packaged in recycled containers and focusing on a natural and conscious beauty routine. Check out their new Naturals line and the Every Drop Counts campaign and then enter to win a fun giveaway below. You could win a prize pack including Neutrogena Naturals products, aeKO Lite eco-friendly yoga mat, and a bobble filtered water bottle. The giveaway will run from Monday through Sunday the 13th. Entries will be verified and open to U.S. participants only.

This post was not sponsored by Neutrogena, but I was sent a free sample of Neutrogena Naturals purifying facial cleanser to review.

  20. I always wash my dishes by hand and I have a washing machine that uses as little water as possible to clean my clothes. And in good sense I do my best not to run my taps or any faucet unless absolutely necessary.

  27. I try to save water even before I saw this campaign. I never leave the water running. I always fix a drippy faucet. I only wash my hair every other day. I give both of my kids their shower or bath together instead of running shower twice of filling bathtub twice. I try to wash as many dishes by hand instead of dishwasher. I yell at my fiance when he leaves water running while brushing teeth or washing face or styling hair.... those are No-No's in my house :)
