Friendsday with IZZE

This Wednesday, I celebrated the much more aptly named "Friendsday" and had a celebration with IZZE. Their sodas, in an amazing array of fruity (but not too sweet) flavors have been my favorite sodas since moving to the Northwest and living within 10 blocks of a gourmet grocery store. A prettily packaged fruit soda is sadly hard to come by and a total guilty pleasure. On bad days at my last job, I used to hike a half mile to the Elephant Delicatessen at Nordstrom and pick up a Mama Leone's soup, cheese stick, and an IZZE blackberry soda. No wonder I'm now on a diet! I've tried my fair share of sodas and really dislike those that are too sweet and saturated. I'm a fan of cream sodas (think Jones), ginger beers, and ginger ale. None of this Pepsi, Coke, Mountain Dew, Fanta noise. No thanks. When IZZE offered to sponsor a delicious dinner for me after I missed their #IZZEFriendsday event in downtown Portland, I jumped at the chance to add their bottles to my fridge.

My dinner, with some good friends, featured the new-to-me service Plated (they deliver the ingredients to make a really lovely meal within 24 hours) and DIY kit boxes from Brit Kits. There's no combo like a DIY kit, lamb meatballs with lemon, feta orzo, and some sparkling sodas. All we needed was a weekend following to complete the evening! Such are Wednesday night parties - never long enough!

I hope you're all having an equally awesome weekend as my Wednesday night this week! Happiest two days off to you! :)

IZZE sponsored this event by providing me with all of the materials. Opinions about their delicious soda, the DIY kits, and Plated's service are all my own!

  1. This is a lovely idea - your photos are great! There's nothing like a good fruit soda (and pretty packaging is always a bonus).
