Silent Night

This weekend Ben and I took a trip out into Eastern Oregon past Hood River and The Dalles, to a secluded cabin on a river, down in a canyon. I hadn't been that far east along I-84, so the landscape of wind farms, wheat fields, and steep canyon walls was awesome (in the most literal awe-inspiring definition of the word). Our friends invited us out for a night of delicious wine, a home-cooked meal, and then a day of hunting for chukar and quail on their property. We were the only people for miles and miles and the silence that surrounded us was serene. Sleeping underneath thick wool blankets after a few glasses of wine and scotch was just what we needed - some time away from it all wrapped up in nothing by beautiful wilderness.

Back in Portland, I don't have an outfit post to share, don't have a shopping wants list or a product to recommend - I am still just reveling in the beauty of an untouched landscape. Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed photographing them. And hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well!

  7. Looks like such an amazing, peaceful place. Did you go wild while you were there? I always get this overwhelming sense of freedom whenever I'm in a secluded area. I want to run and jump around, scream and laugh out loud. It might be my way off getting rid off all the stress that city life can bring.

  9. Love how the cow seems to be posing! I've driven through the area and admired it from the car but never lingered to stay and enjoy it, what a nice mini getaway!
