Shopbop has an awesome end of season sale going on and it has me perusing (constantly) the hundreds of styles that are up to 70% off. While I feel like my wardrobe is still fresh (I only unpacked my winter box about 1.5 months ago), I think there are quite a few pieces that I need to round out my wardrobe. My picks from the sale are below (and some thoughts on what needs updating).
Sweaters, tops, and jackets! The one thing that constantly makes my outfits seem put together and new is the addition of a jacket, blazer, or cardigan. A simple blouse suddenly looks a bit more dressy or new. This asymmetrical zip is ultra-flattering and I love this simple one (I currently only have flashier jackets). I'm also loving these comfy knits. I know I'll be in sweaters for the foreseeable future and end of season is the perfect time to buy your higher quality sweaters for next year.
This holiday season it became awfully apparent that my LBD, dressy, throw it on, always flattering, uh-oh didn't plan for a party but need something fabulous section of my wardrobe is still populated with unflattering Forever 21 numbers from my more youthful years of Christmas parties. I wore one to a New Year's Eve party and felt awkward the entire time. All of the options above are not only severely on sale, but they're adult.
Finally, shoes. I'm currently wearing one pair of black heels and one pair of boots. They're in constant rotation and I feel like I seriously I need an update. These over-the-knee boots are a great deal (coming in at $200 for high quality) and these pairs of ankle-strap heels are all ludicrously priced. I am loving these heels for dressing up either one of those little black dresses or hiding well under a pair of slacks for work! Versatility.
