Cacti Crop

Top: Forever 21; Pants: Gap; Shoes: BCBG via TJ Maxx

This weekend was stormy and rainy which provided the perfect opportunity to go shopping, do some house-cleaning and sip warm chais at our favorite little bakery down the road. I secretly relish these wet weekends because the rain tamps down Ben's desire to play outside and I can get what I want done! I decided to do the once-every-six-months, mentally-prepare-for-hours, Forever 21 trip. I actually really love shopping at Forever 21 when the seasons change, as it's an affordable way to add some punch to your wardrobe. I like to buy my jeans from the Gap, where I know they'll last forever and ever and therefore don't mind spending $70 a pop. I also feel the same way about slacks for work. My Limited and Gap slacks ran me about $70-$80 and have lasted for two years without showing signs of wear. For trendy printed crop tops like this one above, I'm happy to only shell out $15 at Forever 21 and wear the heck out of it for a year.

After filling a dressing room four times over at Forever 21 and having Ben edit my choices (I wasn't allowed to leave with a bright pink and white peplum, tight olive jeans, or a military-style olive cargo jacket), I left with some awesome clothes for spring and headed to the Gap. Do you find that when you're not looking for anything in a store, you suddenly find everything? That was my trip to the Gap! Every single pair of printed 1969 jeans and always skinny skimmers fit me perfectly. Then their blouses were all in my favorite colors, their dresses the perfect length, and there was a huge sale. I edited my own purchases there and walked out with a beautiful shirt-dress and the pants above for a total of $30! The pants were... wait for it... $12! Get to the Gap, ASAP!

Happy Sunday!
