Dress: Banana Republic (shop similar from Banana below)
Flats: c/o Rockport
My mother-in-law was kind enough to throw us a local reception this past weekend in Eugene, Oregon. We drove down to Ben's hometown on Saturday morning and returned just a bit past our cat's dinner time, but spent the entire day socializing with people Ben knew in his childhood and eating a LOT of food. We enjoyed greek platters of feta, olives, couscous, spanakopita, glasses of prosecco, and some giant slices of a raspberry cheesecake from our favorite Eugene bakery. Ben's mom also made the excellent decision to buy a balloon bouquet for the driveway and we took advantage of it and the photo opportunity while we were supposed to be helping to clean up! We drove away stuffed and happy.
I'd been a bit concerned about finding a dress for the weekend last minute (not sure why I made this a last-minute dress shopping excursion as I had plenty of time to plan), and ran into Banana Republic on my lunch hour on Friday and found myself wow-ed by their current dress collection (their current everything for that matter). I don't often shop at Banana due to the prices and the fact that I am always rummaging around in the Gap instead, but it was a reminder to wait for a sale and the buy everything. Whenever I walk in to our downtown Banana (twice), I'm always blown away by the fact that the majority of the clothing looks very "me." A good reminder to branch out past the Gap and Nordstrom once in a while.
